 Senior Experience

Colorado Springs Senior Photographer

My goal is to provide you with a fun, comfortable experience that you will cherish forever.  Your senior portaits that will be preserved properly in quality print products for the generations to enjoy.

We will design your session during our consultation. Locations plays an important role in your Senior Experience. We can choose from the outdoors to the modern urban scene. We will take the seasons under consideration.

After scheduling a session, all you have to do is relax. I will take it from there. My clients find the process smooth and enjoyable. I’m reliable, organized, punctual, and fun to work with. You will become more than a client for me. I value and respect all my customers and make the process pleasant, from planning to portrait.

You can dress up (my Client’s Closet has many gowns to choose from) or you can be casual.

The most important part is TO BE YOU! I want to capture YOU and your personality.

When you book the Senior Experience you also are able to have a Cap and Gown Session in May of your graduating year.

Hi! I’m Maria Randolph.

Colorado Springs Senior Photographer

I’m a mom of a teenage girl who is my everything. She inspires me to be a better parent, a human, and an artist.

I started to specialize in senior portraits because I LOVE working one on one with them. I have been Colorado Springs Senior Photographer for over ten years.

We design your session together at a consultation.  I get to know you a bit better before the session. I guide you throught out the entire photo session. Your great experience, means a lot to me. My specialties are high school seniors and dancers.

Thrilled to announce that I’ve joined forces with the incredible talents at Squires Productions Co-Op Studio. This is truly a dream come true. The new studio is located off of the Garden of the Gods Road.

I love Colorado Springs! Hiking is one of my favorite things to do which allows me to discover new locations all the time.

We have a THREE-year-old Aussie Doodle. We can’t image our lives without her. If you have a pet and would love to bring them to your senior session, PLEASE DO!

I also love fashion and dressing up and that is why I have created the Client’s Closet. Seniors who book with me have access to the Closet not only during their Senior Experience but also throughout their senior year.

I am an award-winning photographer with the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) with whom I received my master of photography degree with. I’m a proud member of the Professional Photographers of Colorado (PPC), and Professional Photographers Guild of Colorado Springs (PPGCS).

Please view my portfolio, read the testimonials, and contact me about scheduling your session.

I would LOVE to work with you!

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to book a senior session?

I highly recommend booking the senior session in January/February of their junior year. Scheduling your session to take place in the summer prior to your senior year has many advantages. Your schedule is not as busy and the weather is absolutely beautiful. You will be able to enjoy it more and you won’t have to worry about the yearbook deadline.

If you are interested in senior portraits for your own use, I recommend choosing the season that your senior loves the most. Summer and Fall are my favorite times to take those portraits. If you are using the photos in the yearbook, please check with your school to see when is the deadline. Some schools require to have the portraits ready by early October.

How much is the Senior Experience?

The Senior Experience has two parts…

Part I  is the Session fee of $200. It consists of a consultation to design the senior session, a wardrobe consultation, up to 4 hours of session time, and an in-person ordering session. The session fee is due at the time of the booking and does not include prints, products, or digital files.

Part II – Print Collections begin at $890.

Are digitals included in your Portrait Packages?

Yes! A digital file is included with each print product that you purchase. Through years of experience, I have carefully chosen my printing labs to guarantee the quality of the products for the best possible results. You are welcome to see all the products at my home studio.

Who chooses the location(s) for our session?

We do it together during our consultation. This is one of my favorite things! After, I get to know you a bit better, what are your likes and hobbies, I will be happy to make recommendations of what place will be the best match to showcase you personality and align with your vision. Choosing the right location is a very important part of the session because I truly want to caputure you in your element. If you like outdoors, we definitely have the most incredible choices in Colorado Springs. If you love art and prefer something more modern and urban, downtown Colorado Springs. Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs have so much to offer as well.

How soon can I see my pictures?

In most cases, within a week of the session, we will schedule a reveal appointment where you will be able to choose your favorite portraits. After the selection is finished, I will edit the portraits within 7-10 days.

What to wear to senior portraits?

I’m happy to help with that during our complimentary consultation. Picking several outfits for the session that are season-appropriate creates more opportunities to showcase the real you. Solid colors are timeless. Trust your instincts and choose what you are comfortable in. Long sleeves are very flattering. Remember your socks will show – pair them with your shoes and no flip-flops.

What is the Client's Closet?

I’m so glad that you asked. After collecting dresses and skirts for many years, I was able to build a Client’s Closet. All my Seniors and anyone else who books a session with me are welcome to wear them in their session. We will schedule a complimentary wardrobe consultation at my home studio where you will be able to try those gorgeous gowns and dresses on.

Who submits the yearbook photo to the school?

The senior does. I work with seniors from different schools, districts, and cities. Each school has a different deadline and different systems of submission. I prepare the image with the standard specifications (300dpi, srgb color space, vertical orientation) and save it with the senior’s first and last name.

Do you offer Cap and Gown Portraits?

Yes, I absolutely do. My seniors who choose my top and middle print collections receive two complimentary Cap and Gown Portraits.

“Maria is THE MOST TALENTED photographer I have ever worked with! Her artwork captures the essence and the beauty of her clients.
My daughter’s senior pictures are incredible and EXACTLY what we were hoping for. Maria also took the most beautiful pictures of me with my daughters! I love them!
Not only is she incredibly talented, she is kind, gentle, and honest.
I recommend everyone I know to use Maria for photography!!!”

We LOVED working with Maria! She was so friendly and kind, and she helped my daughter feel at ease and comfortable during the photo shoot. Maria is a master of her craft. Her specialization in senior photo sessions allows her to really get things just right. She captures the personality and the heart of her subjects, and her settings have a very fresh, modern appeal. She makes great use of color and structure. She talked us through wardrobe dos-and-don’ts ahead of time, which were super-helpful. Once the session was finished, Maria communicated clearly and frequently all the way through to the delivery of our photos. HIGHLY RECOMMEND working with Maria. She’s the BEST.

Maria is amazing!! When it was time to book my daughter’s session for senior pictures, she heard from girlfriends that Maria was wonderful. Madison went ahead and booked a session with Maria. Maddie had so much fun with Maria at her photo session. Then we got the pictures and they were amazing. I also needed to have some pictures taken of my daughter with her brother, so I went ahead and booked Maria again. My son Dylan HATES having his picture taken. Maria got Dylan to laugh and have fun. He told me later that he would definitely to go to a photo session with Maria again because he actually had fun and she made him laugh. We have since had Maria take cap and gown pictures, and I will hire her for our next family pictures! I would recommend Maria to anyone who wants beautiful photos of their family, and to enjoy the photo session with a truly wonderful person.
